Sour Tamarind Plant
Description
Tamarind or Tamarindus indica, is a leguminous tree that bears edible fruit. It is actually indigenous to tropical Africa, but has been naturalized to Asia for quite some time. Tamarind is grown in large commercial quantities all throughout India. Its leaves, seeds, and fruit pod pulp all have culinary and medicinal applications throughout Asia.
This tree can live for a long time with the right care and grows to a medium height. It can successfully be grown in a pot and actually make great candidates for Bonsai.
