Are any of your seeds GMO (Genetically modified organisms) ?
No we do not sell any GMO seeds or plants.
What is the difference between GMO and Hybrid seeds?
GMO seed varieties are created in a lab using high-tech and sophisticated techniques like gene-splicing. Although by regulation, it has to be certified to be safe for human consumption, the long term effects of consuming the resulting produce are not known.
Hybrid seeds, on the other hand are produced by cross-pollinating two varieties of the same plant, where desirable traits of each parent plant may be passed onto the successive generation (F1). This actually occurs all the time in nature and the resulting plant and fruit (or vegetable) is safe to consume.
Can we pick up our seed order rather than having it mailed?
We are strictly a mail-order company, and there is no direct outlet for pickup of plants or seeds. However, we do have two retail partners in New Jersey.

Do you carry seeds for Tindora (ivy gourd) or parval (pointed gourd) ?
No, we do not carry seeds for any of the above, because they are best propagated by cuttings. We do offer Tindora cuttings and potted plants from April to November. We are constantly trying to import/propagate Parval and Kantola plants for the US market, but with limited success thus far.
Do you carry seeds for Curry Leaf (Murraya koenigii), Neem tree (Azadirachta indica) or parijat (Nyctanthes arbor-tristis)?
Unfortunately, seeds for Curry-leaf, Neem tree and Parijat need to be be planted soon after harvest, and do not store well (Recalcitrant seeds), so we do not usually carry seeds for these varieties. However, during the warm months (April to November) we do carry live plants of Curry leaf. Occasionally we do carry Neem tree and Parijat .
Do you ship outside the US?
We do ship small orders of seeds to Canada only at this time. However we cannot ship plants or bulk seed orders without the appropriate USDA certificates.

How are shipping rates calculated?
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your shopping cart weights and your shipping address.
How are seeds and plants packed?
When not during preorder season ,if you order seeds at the same time, they will be enclosed with your plant(s), and there is no further charge. Plants are shipped by USPS Priority mail.
All shipping and handling charges are added automatically when you place your order.
How quickly will I get my seed/plant order?
We ship most orders same day/next day. Plant preorders will have their seeds shipped right away(via USPS ground advantage) and then plants shipped separately(via USPS priority mail) when available at no additional shipping charge.
Plants when available, are sent out all year round, except in January through March/April due to cold weather. They are shipped 2nd day Priority Mail.
Warranty and disclaimer
LIVE PLANTS:
Our plants are healthy when shipped. They may undergo various mishaps during transport. Most of the plants will recover once given proper care upon receipt. If however, you feel that the plant is beyond restoration, kindly send us a digital photograph on the date of receipt so us to consider replacement. You may be asked to pay a shipping charge on the reshipment depending on the circumstance.
SEEDS:
We give no warranty, expressed or implied, as to productiveness of any seeds we sell, and we will not be in any way responsible for the crop.
The liability of Seeds of India, LLC for breach of guarantee (warranty), or for any loss or damage arising out of the purchase or use of its seeds or other products, including loss or damage resulting from negligence or strict liability in tort, shall be limited to replacement of the dissatisfactory item or refund of the purchase price.
Nor shall Seeds of India, LLC be liable for any incidental or consequential loss or damage, including any loss or damage resulting from negligence or strict liability in tort.
