The tulsi (tulasi) or holy basil (or Ocimum sanctum) is a symbolic plant in the Hindu religious tradition and is worshipped in the morning and evening by devotees. In India a Tulsi plant is a must in every courtyard, and it is used in Ayurvedic medicine and is known to have many medicinal benefits.

Holy basil’s native range is located in a tropical region, so maintaining an average temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit is necessary if you want the plant to survive outdoors. If your local temperature is above this year-round, holy basil will act as a perennial.holy basil. This rule applies to growing the plant indoors or outdoors.
