Lalit, or Amaranthus cruentus, is a popular red-striped, broad dented leaf. Popular in Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine, it helps provide a red color into soups and dishes when cooked. Unlike other green leaf plants, this red Amaranth loves the heat, and can be planted to offset your garden after your green leaf harvest is over!

Planting Guidance: Thrives in temperatures between 70 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit; needs at least six hours of direct sunlight. Stagger its planting every two to three weeks to ensure continued production, beginning a week or two after the last frost date in your region. Plant them 10 to 18 inches apart.
