Eggplant-Bijli

Bijli is an eggplant, or Solanum melongena. This light green oval shaped eggplant has white streaks at blossom end. Vigorous thorn less plants bear fruit that can be harvested from 8 oz to 2 lbs. Excellent used in the Gujarati vegetable medley called undhiyu. It is untreated, Hybrid seeds.

Planting Guidance: The eggplant is a warm season crop and is very tender to frost. It can even be injured by periods of cold temperature above freezing, and is more sensitive to low temperatures than either tomatoes or peppers. The plants are usually set 2 to 3 feet apart in rows 3 to 4 feet apart and in full sun.
