Description
Dwarf Cavendish Bananas (Musa acuminata) are most commonly used for commercial purposes. If you haven't heard of Dwarf Cavendish Bananas, chances are you have eaten one if you have ever purchased Bananas from a grocery store in the United States. The dwarf moniker refers to the size of the plant not the fruit themselves. The plants grow quickly but stop growing in height around 8-10ft. At the right maturity, they will produce full size fruit. These dwarf plants can be planted outdoors in the right climate, or are suitable to big pots and can be kept indoors in the winter of colder climates.
