Hot Pepper-Mathania
Description
Mathania, is a type of hot pepper, or Capsicum annuum. Named after a village in Rajasthan, whose dry, hot climate is ideal for chili cultivation, Mathania Chili is one of the finest red chili varieties in India. It has a pungent, sharp heat, with distinct flavor and strong red color. The average fruit length of this variety is approx. 15-18 cm. It is this chili that gives its signature color to classic Rajasthani dishes like Laal Maas and Ker sangri. These chilis are also excellent for making Indian pickle(achar), and can be enjoyed either green or red.
